Tabitha Wells Review of Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells ...
Awful hospital.
Awful hospital.
Although asthetically pleasing the staff are uselss.
My son was admitted to headchog ward on Sunday evening after fracturing is radius and ulna in a skate park, he went down for surgery at 8:30am on Monday and had one set if obs done. I had to push to get some decent pain relief as he was in so much pain.
He was given a full cast which doesnt have room for swelling and he arm was rapidly swelling. I contacted the nurses for food and pain relief on numerous occasions and was only given them after 4hrs and when I threatened to sue.
It took me 6 hrs to get a doctor to come and split his cast to relieve the pressure which was building up. My son was actually screaming in agony amd passing out whilst he had paracetamol, ibroprofen and ora morph in his system and I wad told it was due to the morphine yet he had been fine witj the other doses of ora morph and as soon as his cast was split he was back to normal (well as normal as you can be with 2 broken bones!)
His charge nurse Hollie actually said to me I am so sorry I forgot to get him food and his medication before I went to lunch and when I spoke to another nurse (ward manager?) She stated that Hollie had said she felt that my son didn't need pain relief (maybe I should snap her bones and see how she copes!)
I discharged my son and drove to my local hospital (Medway) who were amazing, the elevated his arm straight away which Pembury failed to do until the last minute, he was given pain relief and even food on arrival after explaining that they hadn't provided food for him and that the cafe had very little to choose from so he had only had chips at lunch time.
I as a mother would avoid this hospital at all costs!
Also they do NOT provide pain relief to take home
