Avoid this place. Until recently, I was very pleased with my service and purchases at STH (Sill-Terhar) motors. I've purchased several vehicles from them, and they've performed literally thousands of dollars of maintenance and repairs on 4 different vehicles for me. Recently (end of 2012, early 2013) something has changed at this dealership. When I left my Mazda vehicle for routine service (oil change and tire rotation) at the Ford service center (where my service has always been performed) they drove it to the Mazda dealer a couple of blocks away (without my consent), and call me with hundreds of dollars in things to repair. I decline, and surprise, surprise, the used car department calls me back within a half hour, offering to buy the vehicle in trade for a new car purchase. The trade-in offer? $3000 under "good" trade-in value per KBB.

This tactic is bold and in this case has lost the dealership a long time customer. The salesman had obviously been alerted by the service rep that I was unhappy about the repair costs identified. The other dead giveaway was that they took the time to drive my car from the Ford dealership to the Mazda dealership, under the guise of "having the Mazda techs work on it". I was getting an oil change and tires rotated! I think the Ford techs could probably have handled it? No, they wanted the car at the Mazda dealership so they could work this angle of "avoid the repair costs, just trade it in and get a new one".
