I have been visiting Crossfields since I was legally able to drink almost ten years ago and it has barely changed. And why would it? No need to change a winning formula, the only thing that's different is that they stepped into the 21st century and banned smoking apart from outside on the terrace. Crossfields has a reputation as a fun, welcoming place with great, carefully chosen staff that work hard and make your stay enjoyable. It's not cheap, but neither are any of the city centre bars, it has a wide variety of drinks and the food is always tasty. A trip to Vienna is bizarrely not complete without paying a visit to Crossfields. It's an institution.
