We hired this attorney to advise us on and to assist us with our application for immigration. Both my husband and I are attorneys in South Africa. We are upfront legal professionals and certainly did not expect a colleague to behave in the unprofessional manner that he did i.e. he was incompetent and inept. Notwithstanding us having paid for consultations and services, he failed to complete his mandate.

He came to South Africa, as he normally does to recruit new clients and my husband and I met with him and his wife Gail, who also works for him.

An amount of $ 10 000 was requested and paid to him. He assured us he knew what he was doing and that we would get citizenship. We subsequently sold our property and moved to USA, on his advice.

We consulted with an attorney in New York who advised us that Grant Kaplan had badly advised us and that we should report him to the Washington State Bar.

We were forced to return to South Africa, with our four young children, when he demanded exorbitant sums of money, and notwithstanding our having explained to him that our funds were now depleted he continued to harass us. He even tried to intimidate us.

We are now reporting him to the Washington State Bar.

Based on our FACTUAL experience and his failure to deliver on his undertaking, I do not recommend you trust this attorney!
