My wife and I stayed unfortunately only 1 night at this traditional ryokan (as it was fully booked) around the end of December. This was one of our most memorable hotel stay ever. Located in a surprisingly calm stretch right in Gion right in the heart of Kyoto, you access the ryokan by crossing a small canal over the ryokan's dedicated mini footbridge.
