I have a friend who purchased a nice 5th wheel and recieved great service. However, DO NOT FALL FOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY as it is nothing more than a SCAM. IA-SAL (SPP) will find any reason to deny a claim and fail to provide service as advertised. As a licensed HET when the furnace and water heater failed I went to investigate and troubleshoot as it was expected not to be an issue with submitting warranty and no other techs were available. Of course it was on a weekend and the trailer is permanently placed and occupied so waiting until Monday was not an option. It was determined that the contol board and sail switch were culprits for the furnace and the thermostat on the water heater. When contacting SPP the next business day the claim was denied solely based on the fact that there was no authorization. After explaining the circumstances and that the failure occured outside of regular business hours therefore nullifying any possible contact there was still a severe lack of understanding and no intention to entertain any coverage. Even though the troubleshooting was discussed in great detail and the parts available for inspection, there remained no possibility of coverage. I understand that ideally a call is placed ahead of time but that was not an option. The least they could do is receive the parts prior to passing final judgement as opposed to arbitrarily excercising their discretion based on sheer ignorance. They would not disclose details even when requesting all documents and fine print. I understand this is a business but part of that entitles the customer to receive adequate services for the purchase of such coverage. For the record I deal with warranty as part of my career for some of the largest engine manufactures and this was on another level. It was the most frustrating experience, the dollar value is negligable but the princple paramount and to believe they will offer "piece of mind" coverage is an insult to my intelligence. I would be remiss not to comment on this experience in hopes of preventing remorse and anguish for future customers.
