On Koh Lanta the beaches are open to everyone. In Thailand you feel that you are welcome everywhere but the resort has now got a new owner so the attitude has changed. Fences, guards and an attitude to the customer indicating that you are not welcome. The resort believes they own the beach and guests who want to come and eat food or yoga even though they do not live there, are rejected.
I would warn guests to visit this resort. The new owner has misunderstood what the resort business is all about.
