I was a pupil at this school, then called Preston Manor County Grammar School, from 1939 to1946 (yes I'm old now). Its teschers gave me a great education from which I've profited ever since, especially in English, history and languages. Most of them had uiniversity degrees. During the War there were air raid shelters big enough for all of us in the grounds. We used to put on very good music and drama performances in the hall.
