The Oregon Zoo is amazing. They have plenty of knowledgeable staff that make day to day operations run smoothly. There are currently a few exhibits closed down due to renovation, but it's still a fun place. Lots of educational things for kiddos and adults alike. There are plenty of food options and snack options available. They offer a few play areas for kiddos to play whilst the parent sits and relaxes and maybe drinking cool water or taking advantage of a beer or margarita offering. Parking is $8 for all day. I would say that currently the train isn't the most exciting, it only goes down by the elephants and back, something like 6 minutes of train. They now charge to get in and pet the goats where previously it was free on the way to Africa if memory serves. Goats was en encounter option they offer along with a few others. Overall great experience, everything is up front so there are no surprises. You can bring your own lunch in. They have water stations throughout the zoo so that you can fill up at no cost. They also offer stroller rentals, although they're quite wide and I've seen people have issues maneuvering them through certain areas. If you're seeking to buy a membership, DO IT! It's totally worth it and Zoo Lightd are part of the package.
