when I came to the Elizabeth stone house it was in 2008, with my daughter who was then 1 at the time and now ten. I had no idea of anything I was doing especially a young teen coming straight from new York who knew no one. I didn't need to beg for help all advocates were on top of everything, they helped me sign up for school, get my daughter into daycare along with signing up for housing applications. I didn't need for anything because of all the wonderful staff that was there. when I came I was a very angry kid who just wanted to go back home with family, but who was I kidding when I was running from home because of domestic violence, and because of these groups especially DV groups and Anger management groups I have learned to trust, and not be scared and have less attitude towards those who cared about me. in just one year of me being in the stone house I graduated from English high school, and attended college right away. in 2011 I was offered an apartment all on my own in Somerville at this time I was pregnant with my son and it was time to get out the shelter and live on my own in my first place ever. from there I wasn't alone, stone house helped me get everything I needed for my place and here we are 6 years later and my second son which add three kids stone house has still helped me if needed. I just recently got my license thanks to the ladies from stone house. haha I can be a big pain in the butt to the ladies but I will always love them and always be a big part of stone house, that was my first home. stone house has never let me down, and I thank them for all they've done for me and my children. and even with me not living at stone house they still make sure we are okay, I am in my second apartment now bigger place and for xmas we still gotten help. I wouldn't ask for anything more. I would refer any women to Elizabeth stone house. they will not let you down.
