I can't believe this place still gets customers ho...

I can't believe this place still gets customers however, I am not shocked to read reviews or staff bullying and swearing and a lack of empathy towards others. I was here as a counsellor from the U.K for approximately 1 to 2 weeks way back in 2003. During my time there I had a bad ankle sprain while doing their so called "training" on the field and I was in severe pain and could not walk or put any weight on it. The camp owner (an old foreign guy) shouted at me because I cried out when it happened and he told me to "get up and don't act like that! You can't act like that in front of the kids when they arrive". At no point did anyone offer to take me to get my ankle looked at.
I also got yelled at during for asking another lifeguard to help out cleaning the pool area at the end of the day. I was told "that is your job she is not here to clean, now get on with it".
After a long day coaching swimming in the hot summer sun with hardly any lunch we were served watered down soup for our main evening meal. I got up and went for seconds and as I walked back to my seat my foot caught the camp owners chair leg and I apologised immediately. On returning to my seat one of my peers made a joke not relating to this and I laughed as did 4 other counsellors. It was at this point the camp owner yelled down the long table at me in front of all my peers and told me that I had kicked his chair on purpose and I had disrespected him. He also called me lazy for asking for help to clean the pool area and made fun of me for straining my ankle. I made several attempts to apologise and explain it had been an accident however, I was shut down and told to leave the table and return to my bunk house. I became upset and told them that I had done nothing wrong. 10 minutes later I was told that I was to pack my bags and leave the camp immediately as the owner refused to work with me.
I made a phone call home to my parents back in the UK and tried to explain what had happened and that I was being taken to the train station in the city. When I got off the phone the owners wife said to me "why did you lie to your family about what had happened, your version of events was a lie. We are taking you to the train station and it is up to you to find your own accommodation and how to get there" and that is what happened, I was driven to DC's train station and just left there despite me asking the driver if he could take me to a hotel. He said "I can't I can only take you to the station" and did not speak to me for the rest of the journey.
When I got to the station I managed to get into a taxi and I explain what had happened and he actually apologised to me for the way his fellow countrymen had treated me and ensured I got to a good and safe hotel and gave me his card so that I could contact him if I needed help.
When I got my cheque through from Camp Olympia for the time I had spent there they actually wrote on the cheque "useless counsellor"
I was a 21 year old thousands of miles away from home and this is how I was treated.
A happy end to the story was I ended up in San Francisco working on a special needs camp and had an amazing time there.
I recall all of these events as I made a statement to Camp America about this place but clearly nothing came of it after reading the recent reviews.
