We reserved and paid for our suite 1 week prior to...

We reserved and paid for our suite 1 week prior to check-in. We were informed by an employee from Sheraton Grand that he guaranteed the room that we requested.

Upon check in were were informed that the room we requested and paid for was occupied. We were too tired to show our disappointment. The manager gave us a room upgrade. The upgraded room was dirty (dust everywhere, the sheets appeared used and the cot sheet was like sandpaper). In addition, the room was incredibly noisy - the sound of a washing machine and V8 engine all night long we were in level 19.

We informed hotel management and nothing was done about it.

I approached the front desk the morning after. The employee was unfriendly, didn t smile and looked like she had been partying all night and had a severe hangover. For $1,300 AUD per night, we expected a higher standard of customer service and cleanliness.

Needless to say, we checked out after the first night of what would ve been a 4 night stay.

We will avoid this hotel in the future.

We checked into The Star Residences. 5 star, brand new interiors, significantly larger suite, better views and much more professional and friendly employees, for a fraction of the cost.
