I will do my best to summarize our history with this company. An account, somehow attached to us was sold to another security by Alliance Security roughly 2 months ago. However, we in fact were not ever clients of Alliance!
Our security service is already being provided by another security company, for monitoring and billing. We have been a customer of that company since July of 2014. During the course of the year we upgraded our equipment only (which may have been done by Alliance guys) but we NEVER discontinued service with the security company we had. Our monitoring has never been interrupted from them for even one day! We can prove this and so can security company we use!
Somehow during the year last year, Alliance security began to bill us for security services, even though they were not and have not ever provided it for us. The only thing they ever provided was a bill, which was overlooked for several months, since most of our bills are automatically paid. When decided to review our bills for the quarter a couple of months ago, I caught the issue and promptly reported it to Alliance immediately.
They first gave us one hell of a run around, but ultimately did their own investigation and did find that they in fact never provided any monitoring services for us. They made no apologies, and many broken promises to resolve the issue without delay. The next thing I find, is a letter from another security company telling us, that Alliance sold our account to them. An account that is in fact a false account and they knew it clearly!
We do believe that the reason for selling the account is because we caught onto their scam, persistently called & complained, presented our evidence and upon investigation, they admitted the mistake. We were told by the manager who investigated the matter, that we would only receive a partial refund of 50% of all previously paid bills because they felt we should have caught the mistake sooner and would not have been billed so many times!
Obviously we rejected that and the debate went on longer than we were willing to tolerate. In the end, in an effort to bring the grief to a halt, we agreed to just go forward with that ridiculous and likely illegal offer of a resolution. We were told the billing would also stop immediately.
We never did receive any refund at all. The billing did stop, but the billing from the new company they sold the account to began promptly! For this reason, we will now be seeking legal action against them effective immediately for the full amount plus damages.
