National DME is a rip-off. They billed me $223.26 for a hand brace. The EXACT same brace is available at Wal-Mart for $29.95. Also, National DME sent a flyer with the bill saying "medical equipment is non-returnable once it has been dispensed to a patient, regardless of whether or not the equipment has been 'used'." The reason I mention this is so that a patient can be warned that when their medical provider brings a medical device into the exam room and removes it from the box, you WILL be billed an exorbitant amount if the supplier happens to be National DME. In my case, I even questioned the provider about who would bill for the hand brace and wanted to check with my insurance company. But he removed it from the box anyway and now I'm stuck with the bill. Be warned - DO NOT allow your provider to force a medical device on you from National DME. Ask for a prescription (if one is required) and go elsewhere.
