Nm Shields Review of Monarch Investment & Managemen...
This company has zero customer service. Seriously ...
This company has zero customer service. Seriously consider the negative reviews. Monarch mid-management said that I would be in "legal peril" if I kept leaving bad reviews about Seasons on Chelsea; it was the response to me when disputing move-out charges.
Two maint techs left in the year that we lived here & they were constantly short staffed in maint. When maint did repairs, they were rarely finished the first time (even when it was simple request). We had leaks, water damage/water shutoff's, roaches from neighbors, broken freezer & various cosmetic maintenance issues within 12 month lease.
We were served an eviction notice for a small balance that was due; even though they accepted full rent from us. While they knew better than to file eviction, it felt like the office had no sense of urgency for upkeep of the community & our apartment. However, they are quick to follow the payment policy & charge late fees/move-out fees.
At move out, they charged $520 in cleaning/damages. The following charges were applied to our account: $100 painting; $25 garbage removal; $100 carpet clean (carpet in only two bedrooms); $195 cleaning fee; $100 damages (mini-blind replacement & 4 vertical blinds). We did not clean the oven, change the drip pans, clean fridge & left 12 pack of drinks, 4-5 frozen vegetables & container of light bulbs in the kitchen. We also did not clean the master shower because it was dirty when lease was originally signed. There were no scratches on walls & only one small nail in kitchen for a calendar we had. These charges were assessed based on an addendum signed that says the charges are applied when the apartment is left beyond normal wear & tear. We did not leave a disgusting apartment.
It's my belief the company profits from the move-out charges & does not pay current employees or outside contractors the amount that is charged to resident. The company would not provide invoices or provide access to make sure the cleaning & repairs were completed. There is an addendum in lease with rates of what they charge for damage or cleaning beyond normal wear & tear. They deem any cleaning as beyond normal wear & tear and excessively charge former residents.
