Meet Rosalita (the pitbull), our miracle dog

Meet Rosalita (the pitbull), our miracle dog

My husband brought Lita home a few weeks ago, after she was abandoned at his work... adjusting our life to take in a rescue dog has been pretty crazy, but the past couple of days have proven to be the hardest. Lita has bad separation anxiety and eats everything in sight... she had an episode while we were out of town this weekend and we came home to her being unable to eat or drink without throwing up.

What happens next is going to sound like a made up story, and I still am unsure if this is real life but it seems to be in-line with everything else in 2020

I dropped Lita off at the vet on Tuesday and tests / x-rays showed that Lita would need emergency surgery that day to remove a foreign object in her intestines, which would likely cost thousands of dollars and she may not even live through it

I told her goodbye as my heart broke into a million pieces.

Thanks to the GIANT HEARTS of staff at Pinellas County Animal Services, they decided to perform surgery on Lita and she is now recovering!!!!

Turns out at some point before we adopted her she ingested a nerf toy and it was stuck in her intestines for what could have been months, but thankfully she has no intestinal damage and should have no long term problems!

I am SO THANKFUL to have her back home with us!!! Who would have thought that the pound of all places would save our little angel
