My husband and I went to Colonial on a Sunday even...

My husband and I went to Colonial on a Sunday evening. There wasn't a hostess up front and we ended up waiting several minutes before we were even acknowledged by any of the staff. After we were seated, it took nearly ten minutes before our waitress made an appearance; then it took her several more minutes to bring us two waters. We ordered the Fried Mac and Cheese for an appetizer. They looked good, but the insides were ice cold. My husband ordered a Cuban sandwich for his main course and I ordered a Sante Fe Salad. The pork on the sandwich was very dry and tasted old, and my salad was missing the major ingredients pertaining to the type of salad I ordered. The waitress said she knew they were out of the ingredients, but failed to tell me that when I ordered. When we were paying our bill and reporting to the cashier (who I believe was some sort of management) our problems, she literally just stared at us. We received no apology or anything. We used to love going to this diner for a quick meal - it wasn't the greatest food, but it was good diner food. Since the new owners took over, the food and service have both gone down hill. They may have new and shiny menus and are doing some renovations, but those things are not enough for us to return. We will travel out of our way from now on to go to better establishments, and I will make that suggestion to others as well.
