This fine dining establishment is a tough reservation to get during high season, so if you're eating out here, get a reservation early.

It would be difficult to criticize this place because after eating in some of the other top restaurants, you realize how tough it is to be creative, but yet appeal to the mainstream. This is an old school establishment on the main drag, so you sort of get what they do. Trying too hard to be haute cuisine with this audience in mind is, I think, where the experience missed the mark. The spicy sprouts were Brussels sprouts buffalo wing style... not fine dining fare. A fine dining restaurant where the waiter says "we have the best clam chowder" as a feature (in Maine) when asked for recommendations should be a warning, too. That said, the Dijon mussels were excellent but small, and there was no bread to soak the delicious sauce.

The headliner entrees - Stuffed Chop and the Halibut - both were very average. The Pasta Galyn, however, was a win. The dessert they pushed, which I didn't try after seeing them go by, was a large cheesecake.
