I truly enjoyed the Mendenhall Glacier viewing hike with Shannon M and Brett. Our group learned so much from Shannon M! She answered all our questions about ferns, moss, the ecology and geology in general, the history of the area, and the animals we might possibly see. She was enthusiastic and understanding, energetic and personable, and very responsible. She offers a great balance of narration and receptive listening, and she checked in often with the members of her group who were a little less mobile on the uphill side of the hike. It was totally worth the reasonable cost of the excursion, I feel like we got more than we paid for with beautiful views of the glacier and waterfall, Shannon's obvious love of the area and the outdoors, and a few hours of brisk exercise during our otherwise sedentary Alaska cruise.
