What a sad disappointment. Highly adventurous prices (for a pub/restaurant chain) failed to ensure any reasonable quality of either food or service.
Starters were miniscule <sic > and were largely inedible. My initial starter was sent back to the kitchen as inedible.
The replacement consisting of very rubbery, flavourless prawns swimming in flavourless oil was little improvement.

Starter prices equated to those for a main course in most pub restaurants.

Whilst my partner's sirloin was reported as being "very nice" the large wedge of fat necessarily removed accounted for perhaps 1/8 of the steak itself.
The accompanying half-lettuce, whilst chilled and crisp, swam in watery, flavourless dressing. The thin and spiky sweet potato fries added no value to appearance nor taste.

Surroundings: During our visit the Miller filled startingly quickly at approximately 5:30. The place sounded boisterous, noisy and in my opinion there were just far too many tables and seating crammed in for reasonable comfort.

Staff appeared to try their best to cope, however the resultant picture was of a city centre during rush hour.
I much prefer to offer the warmest of praise for restaurants, especially when I often see that little extra bit of effort, presentation or food quality given.

Sadly, on every juncture the Miller & Carter failed, not just a little, but badly.
At half the price I suppose most would tolerate the below average food and lax service, however at markups akin to much higher class, independent restaurants my own experience strongly suggests this is one venue preferably avoided - unless desperate.
