We spent a long and relaxing weekend on Lopez Island, and never made it to the National Monument. However, we had a very relaxing time on Lopez Island. If you ever get a chance to visit, be prepared to wave at every passing vehicle, pedestrian, and bicyclist when you are driving around the island. We stayed at Spencer Spit State park and realized after the first day that there are no showers! Its a state park...it should have showers!...but no. Overall, it was great a weekend.
