One of my favorite museum spaces in LA. Their collection is expensive! There is something for all tastes from ancient Egypt to Japanese and Contemporary art. Their permanent collection is rotating, so you will always find something new. They have a great family space and programs that engage kids in looking at and making art.
Free guided tours are offered on weekends.

Warning: the museum is undergoing a massive building project over the next 3 years. Many of the buildings will be closed and off limits until construction is done. It may not be worth the ticket price until they reopen.
