I usually get a non-smoking room simply because I heard they are cleaner and in better shape. And I was told right. We stayed in a double queen suite smokers room with a pool view and it was not nearly as clean or well managed. Floors were not vacuumed. A box spring for one of the beds was broken. When complaining to the front desk about it she said she can have house keeping switch it out--to which they never did. The fan in The bathroom was broken. The light above the toilet was simply a hole with a crooked bulb and wires showing. The furniture and carpet was in dire need to be cleaned. Simply put, these rooms are run-down and in need of an update. The layout of course was the same but the room was not nearly as well maintained as non smoking rooms. Better to take your smoke breaks outside and get a better non-smoking room.
