CMLS should stand for "can't make life simple". When I got my first home 3 years ago I went through a good mortgage broker so I didn't deal with CMLS directly. Now that I am renewing they are horrible. Sent me an offer by email, I replied letting them know I had found a better rate which I invited them to match/beat, and they did not respond. A few days later, I received my renewal in the mail and rate was even higher than in the email! Bait and switch! So I go through all the rigmarole of signing up with another lender, and as soon as all the documents are signed, bang! I get a call from CMLS offering me a stellar 5/100 of 1% lower rate. What a joke! I know I am small potatoes compared to some young up-and-comer who is going to be mortgaged for 100 years on a million dollar urban shoe-box, but I think I deserve better. If you want to be treated like a valued customer, get your mortgage elsewhere.
