I have always had wonderful experiences at the Plano location. I am not impressed with downtown. We had to go there because they have a GI floor but when we get through with this, I think I will take my 16 year old to a regular hospital. We have been in the ER no less than 6 times in the last year. The last time we were in Plano the nurse started doing a mental health screen on my daughter. I explained that there is no need to screen because my daughted is under the cate of a counselor and a psychiatrist. They said I cpuld refuse and I did. Then we show up in Dallas and my daughter is in triage in terrible pain. Almost the first question out of the triage nurses mouth was, "Have you wanted to die in the last two weeks. I stopped her and told her it was a waste of time since my daughter has mental health professionals. She argued wirh me and emphasized "SAFETY" screening like I did not have my childs best interest at heart. I consider my childs privacy violated as well as my parental rights. The doctor made sure she asked all of those questions and more which I am sure was because of the nurses notes. I wonder...are these doctors or investigators? My child had a stomach ache, no bruising and she is almost grown. I have had to call CPS before and they consider am adeacent a low risk because they can call 911 or hit back. They have had to develop an alternative response because of the multitude of mandatory reporters. As a teacher and as a former state employee I know the rules. These people overstep their boundaries.
