I started receiving texts and emails from this company at the end of December. I was confused because I hadn't applied for a mortgage since 2017. This was not the company I worked with. The text stated "I have all of your past info and I am here if you need anything" I asked for any of my information to be properly destroyed and DO NOT CONTACT ME AGAIN. To my surprise the employee actually seemed perturbed with me. After 3 more texts from the employee he said I will not contact you again and good luck. I thought to myself, this guy just told me he had all of my information and now he's telling me Good Luck! Good Luck? As a past victim of identity theft I started having flashbacks. I thought Nexa took my request serious. Not the case. On Jan 11th at 4:24pm I get another text about tax time coming from you guessed it Nexa mortgage! I decided to seek legal help from my attorney friend and he said do not respond, do not delete and keep copies of all texts and emails. I continue to receive emails but they seem to be automated. To my surprise I received a letter in the mail today from an attorney. I turns out my information was involved in a data breach from a former employee of a mortgage company I was working with in 2017. The mortgage officer now works for Nexa and took my information and it didn't belong to him. Keep sending me emails to add to my collection. You can bet this won't be the last complaint.
