In short, the complex complex around the Jacobean-...

In short, the complex complex around the Jacobean-style Hatfield House is fantastically beautiful; unfortunately closed for the entire 2020 season due to the pandemic. So if you, like me, want to visit the two fabulous portraits of Queen Elisabeth I, who spent her childhood and youth in the so-called 'Old Palace' (which is open again) from the Tudor period, you have to be patient immediately. But the remaining delicacies such as the extensive gardens, the elegant park, the adjacent St. Etheldreda church or the 'Old Palace' compensate every visitor. A one-off day trip (from London King's Cross takes about 25 minutes by train) doesn't seem sufficient to me anyway. And, even if it is almost a matter of course for the charming English people: very warm and humorous staff!
