I've been staying here for 10 years, since the renovation. It's always been worth the premium over other hotels in Waikiki. However, they are now transitioning to a Time Share property & now cutting corners. Take away:
Expect to sleep on a hard bed.
Too few staff for house keeping
Wait at check-in
A pool deck with aged decking that is lifting & causing a hazard.
Sorry Modern, I just spent my last night with you!
