I've been here a few times (not my bookings). Nice hotel, but a bit over-hyped. The rooms are nothing special (not for the rates they charge; non-conference rates). Sometimes, feels like the staff is only friendly when they think you will be spending money. Example: I pulled up front in a standard rental car on the day I was checking out and the valet was completely dismissive of me before I had even put the car in park. They no longer have a spa on site, which is just silly for a hotel like this. One time that we stayed here, there were fleas in our room, apparently from some pet-friendly convention the week before, and the hotel didn't even offer to cover the cost of of taking our clothes to cleaners (we didn't want to chance bringing any of the critters back to our home...which is only about an hour from this hotel, and where we have no pets so wouldn't have otherwise had fleas in our home). Oh, and the pool area at this hotel is nothing special. I have stayed in many 5-star resorts/hotels, and they were better.
Okay, I have to say something positive - the food is very good. The historic elements of the hotel are cool, it has a good Hollywood/Beverly Hills vibe, and very good conference space (though the rooms get very cols, so bring a jacket). Also, aside from the spa, it has all the services and amenities important in a large hotel
