Was not disappointed. My family and I decided to take a day trip on a Saturday. We had just visited Snowshoe a couple of weekends prior and wanted to save a little money by not getting a room. Arrived at Beech immediately after they opened and when I handed the lady my bank card to purchase the lift tickets, she recognized the bank on it and asked if I was military. I'm a veteran and have been to places that don't offer discounts for non-active military. I advised her that I was a veteran and no longer active to which she stated that it wasn't a problem and gave me the military discount. Big thanks to her.
Since this was our first time at Beech we asked a couple of the employees about the different slopes. Most were young adults who were not rude by any means, but just had attitudes you would expect from normal teenage kids. Even still they were as polite as could be in explaining.
The runs are limited but there are enough intermediate and advanced runs to keep things fun for a day. This was my son's 3rd day of boarding and after the first hour he asked to hit the blues. The greens are short and you'll spend just as much time letting gravity escort you down the mountain as you will standing in lift lines.
I joked and called Beech "rake mountain" because most of the runs end into a single slope which creates a huge hazard at the intersection. Amenities were pleasant and clean. Prices of food and drinks are reasonable. Will board this mountain again!!!
