Merry Christmas to us! We arrived at the air port at 5:25 and waited in line. My mother was checked in and her bag was taken. By the time I got to the counter the lady was not sure how to check us in with the mobile app and asked for assistance from a manager. We were moved to a different part of the line. She fumbled with the computer for quite some time. She said the flight was closed and ask my mother if she was with us, then removed her from the flight as well as obtained her bag. She stated that we were late and the planes doors were shut at 5:35am flight leaves at 6:05. She stated the flight closes at 45 minutes early and we were too late. We have been charged $75 person and are not allowed to fly in to the airport where our cars is, so now we have to rent a car 2hours and 30 minutes away from our car. Obtain our car at that air port in Bloomington then drive home all on Christmas Eve. She was unhelpful and made suggestions like leave on Thursday or go buy another ticket. I am travel with my mother, son, and disabled sister. We took this trip to let my sister enjoy a few days at Disney, as she has heart failure and this may be her last Christmas. Adding this time and expenses for ($75 person to change flights when we didn t miss the flight) plus another rental car. We are now sitting at the air port from 5:25am until 1:00pm. We have no rental car and can not even go back to our hotel because we checkout. This situation could have been handle much better. Staff needs to be on the same page as well.
