Pieter van der Meulen Review of Apenheul

Nice to see that the animals have a lot of space. There is a playground. There is a carousel. Food is expensive and not special. Admission is actually too expensive. People who live in the neighborhood can subscribe extremely cheaply. So the one-off guests actually pay partly for the subscription holders. People with subscriptions and who live nearby don't buy anything at the restaurant or shop. I therefore prefer a lower normal entrance fee so that more people come from far and higher turnover is generated. Most "shows" are in the morning, so if you are a bit later you will have missed the necessary. Make sure you are there early and can leave early. There is not much to see or do. Furthermore, you can now feed animals in many places, but here it is out of the question. A slingshot or air cannon with pre-filled food would be nice, or give the squirrel monkeys a peanut or something. Now there is a focus on what is not allowed. Not this, not that, not sister, not like that.
The best thing about Apenheul is the park in front that is free. Instead of the Apenheul, enjoy the forest, the watchtower, the fountain, the park, the playground, etc, anything is allowed there.
