The property is stunning, the staff are polite and attentive, and the room we stayed in was great. However the food was very disappointing which really dampened our overall experience at Sri Villas.
We did our research prior to visiting and found all the reviews stating that the food at the villa was exceptional so naturally we had high expectations for our meals but ended up being extremely underwhelmed.
While my wife and I both enjoyed the Pumpkin Soup and Prawn Cocktail, all other dishes we had were less than average. The Prawn Wrap was extremely bland, and while the Spicy Calamari was nice it wasn t the best I ve had (considering the reviews I expected it to be much better). Also I personally found it was a bit unusual to be served just calamari without any sort of accompaniment as it was a main dish. Same for the wrap, perhaps a side of salad/ wedges would elevate the dish.
The Salmon and Pasta dishes we had for dinner were also far too basic and nothing that earns a raving review. Presentation of the dishes were nil.
Today s breakfast was possibly the worst out of the lot. English breakfast consisted of two slices of bread that was too hard to chew and a poached egg that was over-boiled and two sausages that were fine. To say the dish looked and tasted dull would be an understatement. The same goes for the French Toast my wife had.
It saddens us to have to send this email as we truly thought the venue was beautiful and was looking forward to spending our first wedding anniversary there but we re simply too disappointed with the food. To us the food adds significant value to any holiday experience as I m sure it does for most others too so we thought it important to voice our honest feedback about our stay at your venue.
