My husband was transferred by ambulance from Carrollton Tanner Medical to Atlanta Medical. The hospital was ready and waiting at the door when we got there. A staff member escorted me to a family room and allowed family and friends to sit with me while I waited. The ER staff was efficient and quick to care for my husband. My husband fractured C5 vertebrae in his neck. I knew it was serious and i was terrified. He was moved to ICU from emergency, they allowed me to stay with him the entire time. The nurses and the trauma team were awesome. He never, not once had to wait when he needed something. Walking through the hospital, every staff member, from security, housekeeping, cafeteria to administration offered help, smiled and spoke to me and my family. Staff members from ICU and OR knew me outside of their working area, not just my face but knew my name and asked about my husband. After breaking his neck, which could have left him paralyzed, he underwent surgery and was discharged home able to walk and use his arms, after only 5 nights. We know God blessed him and continues to heal him, but his blessing included Atlanta Medical Center and its wonderful Doctors, nurses and staff. Thank AMC for all you did for my husband and getting him back home. We will forever be grateful.
