Be aware that Musuem is not fully open when it is "free". It depends on number of agents accepting to work more or not and
In my experience of Saturday Oct 3rd, the 2nd floor with french paintings and most of famous egypt antics was not open. It is a pity. The Musee du Louvre was usually free every first Sunday of new month, meaning 12 days per year. Now, it s every first Saturday evening from 6pm until 9:15pm and you must havz prerserved via internet (a bit silly and unfair for people having not reserved since there was not so much people visiting practically the museum)
