A few days ago I visited my brother and his wife who were staying at the Royal Palm Hotel. I hadn't been there since it first opened and much to my surprise the standard has dropped dramatically. I did not get to eat at this establishment but visited with my family in their hotel room which was not very well kept. He did mention that the food was not too bad, hence the 2 stars.
My brother was so dissapointed and extremely dissatisfied with his room. In fact they had to be moved from the initial booking to another because the airconditioner was pouring out water into their hotel room. There were so many things broken in their room which was not maintained, and service was poor... things like squeaky cupboards, a broken soap dish and few other details. The lifts we came up in to their hotel room were very dirty. I'm not sure who does housekeeping and care-taking but much needs to be done about it. Needless, to say! My family won't be coming back here and who can blame them!!!
Let me just say, you have lost a good customer, who comes to South Africa every year for Comrades, a well and seasoned traveller along with his wife.
This definitely does not meet up to the 4-star rating given... time to make some changes management #justsaying
