I decided to take my family here for my brother s 30th birthday. I called to make reservations for a party of 5. But I was never told that reservations don t work. When I arrived on Thursday July 25th at 8:25pm right before the reserved time, the host took down my name and told me it would be a wait. But I had made reservations for a reason. AN HOUR passed by and the host kept telling me It would be a couple of minutes. A rather generous family that was sitting outside decided to give my party and I sangrias because they felt bad for us. Honestly that was the highlight of my experience at this place. AN HOUR AND A HALF passes by and though my brother, the birthday guy, really wanted to try this restaurant, he suggested we leave. Then the host finally approaches me saying that people had paid but they don t want to leave. But my family and I left. Because not only were we disappointed, feet hurting, but we were starving, and It was for a special occasion for us.
I just wanted honesty. If this place doesn t take reservations, I should ve been told. If the wait was for an hour +, I should ve been told and not lied to by saying couple of minutes. It was the worst experience I ve ever had in any restaurant in New York City. Again, I just would have appreciated It if staff were honest with me from the moment I called to make reservations days before.
Thank goodness Viva Toro was open at 10:10pm but they advised that kitchen was closing at 10:30pm so we had to rush there and pick our entrees. A birthday should not be like this. If only Patrizia s would have been honest, we could ve saved approx. 2 hours of our time and 2 hours of my brother s birthday wasted.
