You are charged $ 116 for a CAQ request ... except that this document is not required in any province except Quebec. In addition to the fees, it adds a period of 2 months (in my case). The study permit also takes months to be processed and issued, which means that in total Quebec adds 2 unnecessary months of waiting and uncertainty. It's not over: we will issue you a CAQ for a shorter duration than your studies! It implies that you will have to repeat the CAQ request, pay again, wait again, fees and uncertainty always ... but it's not over, as the initial CAQ is shorter than the duration of your studies, the study permit will also be (since it is limited by the CAQ) and there you will have to reapply for a study permit, wait more, pay more, and always more stress and uncertainty.
