My review highly not recommended, February 4, 2018.
I stayed at the Revere Hotel Boston Common from September 24 to 28, 2017. I asked for the quietest room in the hotel.
When I arrived, I tried to access the internet for work, but found that the connection did not work. It took their IT people almost three hours to diagnose and set up a temporary fix. The hotel did not properly fix their disrupted service for another three days.
I tried to make two toll free calls and neither went through. The hotel did not know why and told me to use my personal phone.
I had to call maintenance four times because my air conditioning would not turn off and they had to come up twice to fix it.
Six lamps total, four unplugged, and two with burned out bulbs.
One night at about 11:30 PM I was sleeping and awakened by a lot of noise from the room above me, the penthouse ; my room was therefore the noisiest room in the hotel because it was directly under a suite with wooden floors, a singularly interesting idea in any hotel which should be built for quiet. Called the front desk and they said that they would address it immediately. Called again after 10 minutes of more noise and no change, and again another 10 minutes later. Security guy comes to my door after about 40 minutes from my first call, I am still hearing noise, and tells me that they have called the room multiple times with no answer and they tried to get in with their pass key, but the door was blocked. The manager later stated that security did gain access and saw the person on the balcony talking on the phone, but did not talk to him. They told me that they could not do anything. Noise stopped maybe 30 minutes later.
Less than one week later, the shooting massacre in Las Vegas occurred with over 600 casualties.
This is the way you run a hotel? Under protected, overpriced, and poorly maintained and managed?
I am an independent contractor working for a corporation that supplies physicians to medical facilities. I would have changed hotels, but due to the fact that there was a large convention in the city and nothing available, I was stuck. No one needs this level of incompetence.
I sent a copy of this review to the manager of the hotel for accuracy and he made a single correction, but didn t dispute the rest.
