This was my first trip to the island, which was very nice, but my last trip to Mission Point. The air conditioner at our room broke down during the night, and it got very warm very fast. We only stayed for a night, so it was not a big problem but we didn't sleep too well. The bike rental was a headache as I was not told that day rental does not mean 24 hour rental, and I had to waste a good deal of time the next morning sorting out that issue. I would have done an hourly rental that night and again in the morning if they could have explained it correctly. I was surprised to see on my bill a fee for luggage transport, which was never mentioned when they took the bags. I would have just condensed and taken a backpack. I'm capable of walking there. On the return, the luggage service was late and I had to ask the ferry captain to wait for our bags to get there. He said that Mission Point was notorious for being late and wasn't surprising to him, but he was nice enough to hold the ship. Otherwise, we would have had to wait another hour on the island! Finally, the most aggravating thing was my friend left their umbrella in the room. Normally, you could call lost and found and you could arrange a way to get that item back. But after 4 calls talking to 4 different people over two days, all of whom said they would call back, they never called us back. I can't understand what is difficult about returning a phone call, even after multiple calls to the hotel. I've lost all hope for the poor umbrella, it is now stuck at this hotel forever and probably melted in the hot air conditioner-less room.
