I adopted my kitty from here, and she was so sweet. Unfortunately, I was put in a situation where she required medical care that was going to require surgery and no vet with a payment plan would see me for days. I was concerned about the possibility of my cat dying in that time so I decided to turn her in to this shelter so that she wouldn't be going into a situation that would likely kill her. This was devastating for me, but the staff did not help this situation in the slightest. Firstly, when I called to inquire about surrendering my cat, the woman who I spoke to was immediately hostile. She accused me of foisting my responsibility off on others and being ill-prepared for a pet cause I didn't have $2,000 just on hand for emergency surgery. She also started hounding me about which vet offices I had called. Moreover, she started scolding me about considering adopting another pet when I hadn't mentioned it in the slightest, making it sound like they put me on some watch list for no adoptions. They then told me they needed my cat in an hour, so I had to rush from work to get my cat in. Overall, she was very condescending and unkind in a way that compounded the guilt I was already feeling. Now, when I arrived at the office I was, of course, crying, and the office staff were unkind as well. They did not let me say goodbye to my cat, and basically ignored me while I filled out paperwork. They practically threw my cat's collar at me when they brought it from the back. They then made me pick through the cat toys I decided to donate while I was sobbing to make sure they had no catnip. All in all, it made an already heartbreaking situation that much more stressful. I'm sure they're all kind people, but they did not treat me well here, and I would not recommend adopting from a place that treats owners in this way.
