Really wanted to purchase a used 2008 Odyssey Tour...

Really wanted to purchase a used 2008 Odyssey Touring here but they were unwilling to drop the price to something acceptable. I did my research, knew exactly what I wanted, and was firm on what I would pay for it. The Odyssey Touring model here was a color inside and out (white ext./tan int.) that I didn't really like, but the service records through Carfax were unparalleled and exemplary.

The salesman (Keith Hutchins) was nice, comfortable to work with, and helpful, but in the end he couldn't get his manager to drop the price. If you want a low pressure, but knowledgeable salesperson, you should work with him. All around great guy.

There's no reason for a dealership to be that firm on a used car (especially since it was a trade-in). They wouldn't have lost money on the deal, I just would've bought something that would be worth a tiny bit more than I paid for it (which is what every used car should be). And I was paying cash, no financing needed. You shouldn't pay more than the car is worth, that's asinine. I ended up buying a 2008 Odyssey Touring for almost $1k less than their price from another dealership in Raleigh, in a color we actually wanted. I came out way ahead on the deal, certainly more than I was asking for from Crown. If making money is more important than making the deal that your customer wants, this is how it plays out.
