UPDATE: When I went back I had a better experience than previous times. It looks like they did a good job fixing the tail light. I will know for sure next time it rains or I wash my car.
I chose to take my car to Toyota Sunnyvale because of the good reviews, but so far I have been disappointed.
IN SUMMARY: though the service reps seem friendly they are lacking in reliable, individual follow-through. This has resulted in 5 visits (so far) to Toyota Sunnyvale to fix one issue.
IN DETAIL:
I brought my Scion FRS in due to a leaking tail light.
My first visit everything seemed to go smoothly. After having a look at the car, Marcus put in an order for a new tail light and made an appointment for me to come back for the installation the following Monday.
But when I showed up on Monday, I was told there was no record of my first visit and no part had been ordered. Jeff put in another order and scheduled another service appointment.
This time I called the main service desk in advance on the day I was scheduled to come in so that I wouldn't drive in vain. Once again they did not have my appointment on the books. (Later Jeff said I was on his "personal" calendar, but when I finally did come in he was busy with other things so I'm not sure what this meant.)
Still, the part had arrived and the work was done fairly efficiently. This time I dealt with Omar, who was friendly like the others. When I asked if they could replenish some of my gas for all the trips I was taking to the dealership he said they couldn't and instead gave me a coupon with $20 a future service (even though I still have over 25K miles of free services on the car).
Unfortunately, a few days later the same (now newly installed) tail light was still leaking. I called Jeff who once again asked me to come in for them to have a look.
I brought the car in this afternoon and Gianni told me it looked like they may have replaced only the tail light last time, not the seal (even though the service managers who had looked at the car and I had agreed the seal was likely the issue - so I don't know how this could have been missed).
I am pretty frustrated at this point but giving these guys one more chance to fix the leaking tail light on my 5th visit.
