Plumber was friendly and seemed competent/honest. She over charged me and let me know. She said the company doesn t do refunds to credit cards, original method of payment and so I d have to wait and get a check. I called the office to confirm and was told the check would go out two days later, Jan 17. It s Jan 31 and still no check. I called the office again and was told that hopefully a check would go out next week but their accounting person was in and out of the office. Really? So nobody s getting a paycheck? You haven t paid consumers or anyone else in 3 weeks? Get real and give me my money. Hate companies that give you the run around, it just isn t that complicated. Won t call them again. A friendly worker can t make up for a dishonest and disorganized office staff.

Update: After making my complaint public, I received my check and a $25 gift card in the mail four days later. Thank you.

Second update: plumber was not competent. They were called to check our entire house for leaks due to a greatly inflated water bill. They told me the toilets were leaking, replaced some
valves and left. We bought a new washing machine, sold our old one and so the hoses to the washing machine were disconnected and put in a bucket for four days. Quickly became apparent that the hose is leaking. NOT THE PIPES. So it wouldn t have been obvious to someone that didn t take the hoses off. I told the plumbers when they walked in the door, we wanted every inch of piping gone over for leaks. Fairly disgusted at this point. Were my toilets even leaking? Or was that a totally unnecessary $700 bill?? And it was the washer valve the ENTIRE time? Feeling cheated.

I recently called them back because of a furnace issue. They came out promptly and told me it was a bad heat exchanger. Their quote to fix it was $1850 and they told me I might as well buy a new furnace for $5500. I had Tyler Heating and Cooling come out, they brought the parts to my furnace with them, fixed the heat exchanger in two hours. They told me my furnace is STILL under manufacturer warranty, the parts were free and the labor was $600. The guy also told Me that the heat exchanger makes the furnace and I basically got a brand new furnace that should last for a long time.

So, Meridian Company was either incompetent and didn t know my furnace was covered under warranty, lazy and didnt check to see if my furnace was covered under warranty or just wanted to rip me off completely and pocket the extra $1800 in rebate money for the parts.
