My mother-n-law had a simple hand surgery to remove some bone spurs. She was told to arrive for the procedure at 7:45, I had her there by 7:15. After waiting two hours I went to the desk to ask how much longer it would be. I was told that she was number 9 on the list of surgeries and there were 5 ahead of her. When I asked why she had to be there so early the lady at the desk told me that was just the way did things. Finally around 10:30 she was called to back triage area. At 10:55 Dr. Morris came in and told her he had 2 more surgeries. Around 12:00 the surgery finally began and only lasted about 30 minutes.

What I don't understand is why did my mother-n-law have to arrive so early if she was number 9 in surgeries for that day? I have never had to wait that long before an out patient surgery at other locations and other people that I have spoken to have said the same thing.

The waiting room was freezing cold. The thermostat was set on 66. Everyone was complaining about how cold it was in the waiting room but the staff wouldn't do anything about it.

The receptionist in the surgery center area was not very friendly.
