Received a collection bill from AMCOL for a doctor...

Received a collection bill from AMCOL for a doctor bill I didn't even know about because I had moved. I only found out that I owed it because of a credit monitoring service I have. Once I knew about it I contacted AMCOL and paid the bill immediately. There is now a collection showing up on my credit report. I contacted AMCOL to see if they could get it removed. After being put on hold several times so that the person could speak with there manager, (who supposedly wasn't there), I was informed that there was nothing they could do. I argued the point that I had moved and didn't receive the notice. The person on the phone asked when I moved and I told her sometime in November of 2016. She said they mailed the notice in October and that I was past the 90 day window of receiving it and then paying it. So I asked " If I had said I moved in October could you fix the problem?" After stumbling with her words and basically saying yes, she then back tracked and said we have you recorded saying you said you moved in November. WOW!!!! This takes the cake of companies taking advantage of consumers, and not giving two cents how there actions effect everyday hard working people. So now because of a $100 doctors visit bill that I didn't even know about, I have a blemish on my credit report for 7 years. The credit system in this country is definitely in need of a major overhaul. Takes 2 minutes to make a mistake but 7 years to fix it..........not fair.
