Austin P Review of Ray's In The City

Me and a good friend ran across this place in DTATL. Its seemed like a great spot as the decor and ambiance is very nice. Our problem with "Ray's in the city" came when it was time to meet our server. She seemed very rushed and impatient as if we were taking up her time by dining there. The server was rude didnt ask how we were doing, if we needed menus, have we been here before, nothing even remotely close to customer service. Remind you there were about 8 patrons in the restaurant. After sitting for 15mins with out being greeted we had to ask for a few things like water, and eating utensils, a drink menu etc...once we got a chance to order we were left to eat our food which looked and tasted amazing. I ordered the crab cake with asparagus and mashed potatoes. DELICIOUS!!!! After finishing our meal we sat and talked for a minute, this is when we noticed problem/discrimination part#2 a large group of Latinos came and set down in the both next to us. Their server came up with a smile on his face, excited and friendly. When he came up he greeted the table and asked have you all been here before. The table replied with a no and he then welcomed them to Ray's. He then went on to explain to them what kind of restaurant Ray's was, what they offer etc... apparently there is a whole spill Ray's does when your a first time patron..I felt completely left out I even told my friend "I want to go sit at their table" as I was trying to overhear the waitress spill . I'm not sure if the color of your skin determines what type of service you receive at "Ray's in the city" or if you even get greeted at all, but that day it certainly seemed like it. My friend and I are African American Iraq war vets, who have served and protected our country and every race in it. It makes me sick to my stomach that we still get stereotyped because of our skin color. I'm sure when they took our African American $200 money its was to their liking. Long story short, if you looking for a fun night on that town with good food and great customer service and money isn't an option go somewhere else. Because "Ray's in the city" doesn't have it.
