We tried to pay with a non Dutch debit card, it was without the chip but not a credit one. The old lady at the cash desk asked us for an ID. We only had a European driving license with us which she did not accept because "It is not a valid proof of ID". Nonsense, it was clear that both the debit card and the driving license were from the same person. A completely nonsense and illogical approach
