This is a shared library between San Jose State University and San Jose Public Library. It has a lot of materials, is open 7 days a week, and is open late. The library is well kept, has plenty of quiet areas to study in and have some great views in the higher floors. It is easily accessible to public transportation, and there is a parking structure across the street. Restrooms are clean. There is a Tully's coffee shop and another coffee shop in the main lobby. There is a well stocked kids area on the 1st floor and they have a schedule of free activities to keep your kids motivated to learn. There are usually activities for adults as well, such as talks on San Jose. There are many homeless people here trying to get warm, use the internet, charge phones, or simply trying to get off the street and in a place they will not be hassled, and they are harmless for the most part. There is security at the main entrance, and I see them patrol the floors, and they are friendly. The library is safe, and a really good resource for everyone. Checking out materials is easy with the self check out system, and returning is even easier. You can return books to any San Jose library too. Get yourself and kids a library card and make the best of this library.
