The only thing I can say is take the ride. It is amazing. It starts so beautiful and it only gets better along the way. You don't even feel the three hours pass by. The open gondola in the back is the best due to less soot from the engine, wear sunglasses anyway. Wear heavy clothes in winter though, gloves are mandatory, it gets really cold.
